1. Who We Are

Still Us ("we", "us", "our") is a private mobile application designed exclusively for couples. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with the care it deserves. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Password (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text)

App Content You Create

To provide the app's features, we store the content you create, including:

  • Tasks and their details
  • Calendar events
  • Mood updates
  • Messages (including time-delayed, time-locked, and password-locked messages)

Your messages are stored securely in Firebase Firestore. Password-locked message bodies are never transmitted to other clients — verification happens server-side via Firebase Cloud Functions.

Device Information

We collect your device's push notification token (FCM token) solely to deliver notifications to you. Tokens are refreshed on every app launch.

Usage Data

We do not use third-party analytics SDKs. We may collect aggregate, anonymised usage statistics through Firebase to monitor app stability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Provide and maintain the Still Us service
  • Connect you with your linked partner
  • Deliver messages at the scheduled time or after password verification
  • Send push notifications you have opted in to receive
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 5.

4. Data Shared Between Partners

By design, some data is visible to your linked partner within the app:

  • Your current mood and display name
  • Tasks you create or are assigned to
  • Calendar events in your shared couple space
  • Messages you send to your partner

Before a couple link is established, no data is shared between users.

5. Third-Party Services

Still Us is built on Google Firebase, which provides our database, authentication, and cloud functions. Your data is stored on Firebase infrastructure in accordance with Google's data processing terms. Please review Firebase's privacy policy for details.

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications via Apple APNs and Google FCM infrastructure.

We do not integrate advertising networks, social login SDKs, or third-party analytics services.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 9). After deletion, data is removed from our live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Still Us is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Port your data to another service

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification. Continued use of Still Us after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
